On Wednesday, 28 January 2026, the THIMUN Foundation will screen a 30-minute documentary produced by the Qatari television network Al Jazeera. The film explores two interconnected issues: the repatriation of cultural artifacts to their countries of origin and, consequently, the evolving relationship between formerly colonised nations, such as Indonesia or Senegal and former colonial powers such as the Netherlands or the United Kingdom.
After the screening, there will be a Q&A during which our experts Professor Jos van Beurden, (author of The Empty Showcase and specialist on the return of cultural artefacts) and Ms. Laura Osorio Sunnucks (Head of Research & Collections at the Wereldmuseum Amsterdam) will answer questions from the audience.
